Hit them up for happy hour on Wednesday to Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. for discounted drinks and delectable smoked wings or pig pen nachos. Their dinner menu is also stunning and features a great three course platter to share with friends.”

“But that’s just scratching the surface. A lengthy list of small and large plates aim to please. Sides include baked mac and cheese, creamed kale and asparagus. Start your meal with a few scrumptious snacks for the table like deviled eggs or deep-fried, blue cheese-stuffed olives. And of course there are a wide variety of craft beers on tap, a nice wine list and a full bar.”

Vacation Idea Magazine: March 15, 2017

WC-Press-VacationIdea-03152017“This lunch and dinner serving establishment has a fresh and modern take on an East Coast gastro pub. With American centered offerings boasting an emphasis on seafood and barbeque, Walrus + Carpenter blends Atlantic Ocean fare with a rich selection of meats to create an innovative and unique menu. Located in a historic building in downtown Bridgeport, the ambience is casual, rustic, and warm. A large ornate bar runs down a sidewall of the shop, and brick feature walls, large arched windows, and dishes served on platters add to the building’s quaint atmosphere.”

WC-Press-HeyBigMike-03142017“I actually went for brunch but I was blown the f away by what happened. We started off with these little cinnamon muffin things that made me want to scream out in happiness. Moved on to the Breakfast Poutine (fries, slow poached egg, mozzarella curds, smoked bacon, gravy) and was equally impressed.

But the most noteworthy dish, hands down, was the Fried Chicken and Waffles topped with sriracha-honey butter. Everyone that knows me knows I’m a sriracha ADDICT. So that was a wonderful touch. Tender, juicy everything. Highly recommend this place for brunch.”
